We are all shy once in a while. Some are a lot more than others, but there are all aspects in our lives where we lose confidence and become shy. When you are shy, you are missing out on a lot of experiences and opportunities. You are letting life pass you by as opposed to taking control of it. Below, Kartikeya Sharma iTV Media Network talks about how to stop being shy and become more confident in yourself and around people. Your Opinion Has Value Before you say something, don’t second-guess yourself. If you feel like you can add to the conversation, go for it. There is no worst case scenario here. If you are too quiet, people won’t hear you and life will go on. If you say something not so you have clever, people will forget about it pretty quickly. You're nothing to lose so don’t be afraid to participate in the conversation. Act Like You Are Talking To Your Close Friends
Shy people will often open up to people that they are more comfortable with. I have run into a lot of people that are shy in social situations, but they never stop talking when they are alone with me. It’s great, but there’s no reason that they shouldn’t be able to apply this confidence in group settings and with people they do not know. The next time you enter into a group social setting, try to envision that your best friend is there and talk as if they’re the only ones listening. Speak up, but don’t hold back. Once you start doing this, you will be surprised how receptive others are. Speak Loudly One of the biggest problems that shy people have is that they speak softly. A lot of times they will say something and they will not be heard. This contributes to their shy nature. When you talk, talk as if you are speaking to someone in the back of the room. Don’t worry about being too loud. In most cases, you are simply not used to talking at a normal level for the situation. By practicing this, you will slowly get used to speaking up and talking louder. People will give you more attention when you speak, which will, in turn, raise your confidence.
